Day Three – Mount Ashland Opens!
December 6th, 2012 by peterDad & I made it up for the 2nd chair of the season. The weather was great – we got above the clouds and enjoyed the sun for pretty much the whole time we were there. Always interesting to see the familiar faces, and the egos that go along with them. Looking forward to another great year.
A rainbow greeted me for my first run down this morning!
Day Two?
December 4th, 2012 by peterDoes half a turn count as skiing? After a great day yesterday, Dad & I headed back up to the hill. Unfortunately it was raining and the snow had developed like about 3″ of total crust on top. I figured since we had driven all the way up, I might as well take a few turns… However after skidding through the first one, I decided that it would be best just to head back home…
A semi-successful turn (I didn’t fall)

Making Love in the Snow
November 4th, 2012 by peterFirst Snow of 2012-2013 Season!!!
October 22nd, 2012 by peterFourty-Ninth Ski!
June 2nd, 2012 by peterGot out of the valley clouds, and into the sun. Boot packed up to the top of Mount Ashland and then skied down 4th chute in the bowl. Visibility wasn’t the greatest on the way down, but the snow was nice and consistent, so that was fun. Since its so much work to get up there, got to take a lot of turns on the way down!
Fourty-Eighth Ski!
May 19th, 2012 by peterHiked to the top of Mount McLoughlin today! First time I have ever done that. Got up bright & early, met Dad, and headed off. Went up the South-West face, through some lava fields (totally awesome to walk in ski boots), trees, and some snow. It was a nice day, got some good turns in on my skinny skis, and it was cool to be up there with Dad. Had to walk a ways to the car, but we found it no problem!
